Application tips

• Cleanse and sanitise both your hands and your client’s hands. Wear gloves. Assess the condition of the hands and nails to ensure there are no contraindications before proceeding.
• Gently push back the cuticles using a cuticle pusher or an orange stick, then refine them with an e-file (e.g. bit 9, 1).
• Buff the nail plate using a 100/180 grit buffer to create a matte surface.
• Remove dust with a soft brush.
• Degrease the nail plate thoroughly using a lint-free wipe soaked in Cleaner No. 1.
• Apply a suitable primer (Acid-Free Primer or Acid Primer).
• Apply a thin layer of your chosen mineral base coat, e.g. Natural Base, and cure for 30 seconds in a MultiLED lamp.
• Apply a second, thicker layer of a nude base, e.g. Natural, to gently even out or build up the nail if needed. Smooth the surface with a fine nail art brush (e.g. Master Nail Art 007) or use gravity by flipping the hand to shape the apex. Cure again—extend the curing time to 60 seconds if using a thicker layer.
• Apply the first thin layer of Cat Eye colour, avoiding pressure on the nail plate – do not cure yet!
• Use the magnet and bring it close to the nail, ensuring it is near enough to attract or repel the metallic particles, but without touching the surface. Pro Tip: To achieve a sharp and defined Cat Eye effect, hold the magnet very close to the nail and move it along the desired pattern. Then, swiftly pull the magnet away and immediately cure the nail under the lamp. If you move the magnet away too slowly, the particles will disperse, resulting in a softer, more diffused look.
• Cure for 30 seconds in a MultiLED lamp.
• If a more intense Cat Eye effect is desired, apply another layer of Cat Eye gel, use the magnet again to deepen the pattern, and cure.
• Seal the design with a top coat such as Tip Top or Wet Look, then cure for 30–60 seconds.
• Allow the nails to cool for around 60 seconds.
• If using a tacky top coat, remove the inhibition layer with a lint-free wipe soaked in Shea Super Shine Effect Cleaner.
• For an ultra-glossy finish, polish the nails with a dry wipe.
• If using a non-wipe top coat, there is no need to cleanse. After waiting one minute, apply Shea Elixir with Keratin around the cuticles for extra nourishment.
